What better way to kick-start the kids summer holidays than at Newmarket Summer Festival. The Festival has marked the arrival of summer for many generations in this lively North Cork Town and is one of the last traditional week long festivals that were once common throughout Cork.
Our 2016 Festival is almost here and promises to be bigger and better than ever.
Events to look forward to as part of this years programme include our Teddy Bear’s Picnic for the kids in the Island Wood followed by an evening for the adults with a classical string trio, the Father Ted Night at Scully’s, a nature and history walk in the wood with Raymond O’Sullivan and Jack Murphy, Bring ‘n’ Buy featuring the Wheel of Fortune at the CYMS, an Epic Teenage Disco, a Night of Summer Fashion in the Hi Street Bar and of course all the old favourites such as the Walkabout Quiz, Trad on the Street, Lady of the Rings at Dan Hourigan’s and more!
The festival wouldnt be complete without the presence of Turbett’s World Class Funfair in the town park each night from 7.30pm
Again this year an exciting fireworks display will bring the action packed ten days to a close and is a spectacle not to be missed.
